In 1944, architect Philip Arctander designed a chair which has since become a design classic under the name Arctander Chair. Working in collaboration with Philip Arctander’s granddaughter, the founders of Paustian, the Danish design and furniture house relaunched the iconic chair in 2016.
This clam shaped chair is made of a steel frame with a fully casted PUR-foamed shell. The foamed shell is fully upholstered with 100% kid mohair (pile) with 100% cotton (base) and a wadding layer underneath. The armrests and legs are made of solid machined oak provided with a thin layer of transparent matt lacquer.
