F Taylor Kylix Bowl
F. TAYLOR is a furniture, object, and interior design studio located in Rome, Italy and Massachusetts, USA, led by F Taylor Colantonio whose first name is legally just the letter F, due to a clerical error on his birth certificate.
Their objects express their ideas, they believe that objects should hearten us, enrich our lives, and strengthen our relationships with the spaces we inhabit.
Made in the USA using a centuries-old American technique for making rugs, the Kylix Bowl is hand-formed with cable that is woven on cast-iron machines from the 1940s, a finely skilled sculpting process done by expert sewers. The Kylix centerpiece bowl takes its shape from the communal wine drinking vessels found at ancient Greek symposium parties. Meant to sit in the center of a table, the Kylix should be used for the communal rituals of a household: it is a place to find fresh fruit, or to drop letters and trinkets collected throughout the day.
In etruscan multi cable with a black figure cable foot, a mix of wool and synthetic yarns, this bowl is 25cm tall x 51cm wide handle-to-handle x 40cm diameter bowl.
