KANA London Dinner Plate White On White
Ana Kerin, founder of ceramic studio KANA London was looking for a balance when she decided to create her line of functional ceramics. It wasn’t necessarily a stretch – the classically trained Kerin already had a sculpture practice but she wanted to offset the seriousness of her fine art pieces with something lighter.
KANA’s creations are sensual and unusual – terracotta stoneware in all shapes and sizes, glazed in rich colours, some daubed with patterns, some with obscenities, some with 22-carat gold.
The dinner plate is a glossy glaze for a more polished finish. End results vary from piece to piece dependant on factors such as the application of the glaze, providing uneven and unique finish.
Hand built in East London, small imperfections such as fingerprints, superficial cracks & indentations are part of the nature of the technique.
Stoneware, food safe glazed and durable enough for everyday use. Hand washing is advised.
The plate measures approximately 27cm in diameter.
