For jewellery that combines flawless stones, contemporary motifs, a sustainable spirit and a playful edge, look no further than London based design studio Rosa de la Cruz. Founded by former attorney de la Cruz, and fashion editor Tierney Horne, previously of Elle, Mademoiselle and Harpers & Queen, Rosa de la Cruz London offers a modern vision of fine jewellery, drawing on varied inspirations from pop art and tattoos to classic vintage pieces.
For autumn/winter 2019, the designers have created a bold collection that combines their signature aesthetic with new shades and shapes. “With these new pieces, we were able to really play with a bold take on colour, gloss and volume,” the designers said. “We love how these new pieces layer beautifully and refresh our classics. There is almost an infinite choice of colour and stone combinations. Every time we look at the collection, we have a new favourite.”
Autumn’s colour pairings are vivid and exciting: cocktail rings feature pink and blue sapphires encircling lemon quartz, bright red garnets and lime green peridots, while baroque boules cross rings come in ruby, sapphire and emerald variations.
The eclectic glamour of the pieces speak to the range in their clientele. “Our customers span all generations,” the designers explain. “Daughters, mothers, grandmothers. The terms “wearable” and “timeless” sound cliché but that’s what we strive for. We design seasonless pieces that defy fast-fashion; pieces that you wear day and night, season after season.”
