Mark W. Cross & Co. was established in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1845 by Henry W. Cross, affectionately naming the company after his only son. Founded on a simple passion: To create the finest leather goods for the horse and buggy rider.
The take over by Gerald Murphy in 1934 led to the production of luggage, cigarette cases and luxe jewelled evening bags.
One of the brand’s most recognised designs – the Grace box bag – was originally created by Gerald Murphy for Grace Kelly’s role in Alfred Hitchcock’s film Rear Window.
Today it is an instantly-recognisable design in myriad colours.
