The Karhu was founded in 1916 by Ab Sportartiklar Oy in Helsinki, Finland. A brand specialising in technical runners and outdoor clothing for over 100 years.

Originally making javelins, skis and discuses from local birch wood, Karhu later moved into running spikes that were worn by the likes of Hannes Kolehmainen, the first ‘Flying Finn’. Karhu (Finnish for ‘bear’) then moved into more widely worn trainers with its signature Fusion 2.0 and Aria styles that are old-school in styling, but thoroughly modern in the making.

Finnish design principles are key which follow simplicity and running purity with an authentic heritage in athletics as well as a deep connection to the outdoors.
