Ben Kelly

Ben Kelly

Ben Kelly is one the UK’s most influential Interior Designers, having directed successful projects across the UK, Europe and Asia.

Kelly graduated in Interior Design from the Royal College of Art in 1974, and three years later, in 1977, established his own studio – Ben Kelly Design (BKD). In that same year, Kelly was nominated by D&AD for the Prince Philip Designers Prize awarded for outstanding achievement in design for business and society. Later, in 2007, he was awarded the title ‘Royal Designer for Industry’ (RDI).

Kelly is Chair in Interior & Spatial Design at University of the Arts London (UAL); has been appointed visiting professor in Interior Design at The Royal College of Art and, more recently, has also been appointed Professor in Interior Design at Kingston University where he was granted an Honorary Doctor of Design in 1998.

Kelly’s work has forever been positioned at the intersection between art, design, architecture. His latest work, Columns, is now installed at Alex Eagle Studio – having moved across from The Store Studios at 180 the Strand where they featured as part of the seminal Everything at Once – Kelly’s twelve Columns ask important questions about collaboration, inspiration and appropriation.

Please note more Columns are available in store. For further information and in-store availability please contact us at info@alexeagle.co.uk.
